General considerations for skills
Before you start to use watsonx Orchestrate with Candidate sourcing with ThisWay Global, take note of the following general considerations:
-
Find candidates for a job skill: For the 'Location of the candidates' parameter, specify a city and state (abbreviation) separated by a comma; for example, Boston, MA for Boston, Massachusetts. Do not specify a generalized area name like Orange County or a state by its full name; the AI cannot recognize such location values.
-
Job descriptions: When you create a job description template, consider the following tips to help the AI work with the job descriptions:
- The job description must have only the requirements and qualifications the company is looking for in a candidate.
- The job description must identify real skills for candidates, and not use personality traits such as “rock star” and “team player”. Such traits can confuse the AI.
- Avoid information that the AI cannot use to find candidates; for example, a list of benefits, a history of the company, or culture information.
Also, you can create job description templates in Box that can be used by the Create a job skill in watsonx Orchestrate (see the corresponding limitation). When you create a job description from the template in Box, consider the following tips to help the AI work with the job descriptions:
- A job description file must be a text file. (Box notes and binary files such as PDF or Word are not supported.)
- The first line of the text file must be the title of the job.
Finding candidates for a job and sending email
You can use watsonx Orchestrate to search for job candidates and send them emails through Microsoft Outlook or Gmail in a sequence. After you run the Find Candidates for a Job skill, the next best action involves Send email to candidates with Microsoft Outlook, if you added this skill to your skill set.

Applying filters to your results
You can apply filters to get more specific results by clicking the filter icon in the results table.
When you choose one or more criteria to apply to your search and refine it, watsonx Orchestrate employs fuzzy logic. Fuzzy logic is an artificial intelligence and machine learning method for identifying similar but not identical elements.
