Salesforce Account Engagement

Salesforce Account Engagement is a cloud-based platform that offers B2B marketing automation tools for automating marketing, creating leads, and calculating marketing ROI. This document describes how to connect IBM watsonx Orchestrate to Salesforce Account Engagement and use its skills on watsonx Orchestrate.

Tip:The Salesforce Account Engagement app, formerly known as Salesforce Pardot, connects to the Salesforce Marketing Cloud environment. If you want to connect to the Salesforce Core Platform environment, use the Salesforce app.

Connecting to Salesforce Account Engagement

Connect to the app according to the credential type that you or your team want to use.

If you want to connect the app to the Orchestrate Agent skill set, skill sets from AI assistants, or the Team skill set with Team credentials, refer to Managing app connections.

If you want to connect to the app to the Personal skill set or the Team skill set with Member credentials, refer to Connecting to apps.

Configuring the connection on watsonx Orchestrate SaaS

To connect watsonx Orchestrate to Salesforce Account Engagement, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Connect app.
  2. Optional: In the API URL, specify the Salesforce Account Engagement API server URL to override the default URL. By default, the URL is set to https://pi.pardot.com.
  3. Click Connect app. You are redirected to the Salesforce login page.
  4. Enter your Salesforce account username and password on the Salesforce authentication page, then click Login.
  5. Enter the verification code sent on your username, then click Verify. You see a notification on the connection status.
Note: The icon A green check icon appears to show that the app is connected. indicates that the connection was successfully established.

Configuring the connection on watsonx Orchestrate on-premises

To connect watsonx Orchestrate to Salesforce Account Engagement, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Connect app.
  2. In the Application client ID, enter the unique client identifier for the Salesforce Account Engagement client application.
  3. In the Application client secret, enter the client secret for the Salesforce Account Engagement client application.
  4. In the Access token, enter the access token generated from the application client ID and client secret.
  5. In the Refresh token, enter the refresh token generated from the application client ID and client secret.
  6. Optional: In the API URL, enter the server URL of the Salesforce Account Engagement API to override the default URL. By default, the URL is set to https://pi.pardot.com.

Technical parameters

The Business Unit ID is a mandatory field to run skills from the Salesforce Account Engagement app. To get the Business Unit ID, follow the instructions to find the second Business Unit ID (used for API requests) in the Find my Account Engagement Business Unit ID article in the Salesforce help center.
