Connecting to Slack
Slack is a web-based, real-time, and archived messaging app for your team. You can communicate in open or private channels, send direct messages to colleagues, and share files.
To use external applications with IBM watsonx Orchestrate, you must establish a connection that enables communication between them. See Managing connections for more details.
Connecting to Slack using the watsonx Orchestrate user interface
To connect using Bearer Token:
- From the main menu, select Manage > Connections.
- Search for Slack.
- Find the connection ID with the following structure: slack_bearer_ibm_184bdbd3.
- For the matched connection ID, click Edit.
- Choose the environment to create the connection: draft or live.
- Select the Authentication Type as Bearer Token.
- Click Save.
To connect using Key Value Pair:

From the main menu, select Manage > Connections.

Search for Slack.

Find the connection ID with the following structure: slack_key_value_ibm_184bdbd3.

For the matched connection ID, click Edit.

Choose the environment to create the connection: draft or live.

Select the Authentication Type as Key Value Pair.

Provide the following Keys, click Add new field to add additional key-value pairs:
base_url
For all Value fields insert the value corresponding to the key.

Select the credential type.

Click Save.
