Connecting to ServiceNow

The ServiceNow platform supports service management for all departments of your business including IT, human resources, facilities, field service, and more.

To use external applications with IBM watsonx Orchestrate, you must establish a connection that enables communication between them. See Managing connections for more details.

Connecting to ServiceNow using the watsonx Orchestrate user interface

To connect using Bearer Token:

  1. From the main menu, select Manage > Connections.
  2. Search for ServiceNow.
  3. Find the connection ID with the following structure: servicenow_bearer_ibm_184bdbd3.
  4. For the matched connection ID, click Edit.
  5. Choose the environment to create the connection: draft or live.
  6. Select the Authentication Type as Bearer Token.
  7. Click Save.

To connect using Key Value Pair:

  1. From the main menu, select Manage > Connections.

  2. Search for ServiceNow.

  3. Find the connection ID with the following structure: servicenow_key_value_ibm_184bdbd3.

  4. For the matched connection ID, click Edit.

  5. Choose the environment to create the connection: draft or live.

  6. Select the Authentication Type as Key Value Pair.

  7. Provide the following Keys, click Add new field to add additional key-value pairs:

    • base_url

    For all Value fields insert the value corresponding to the key.

  8. Select the credential type.

  9. Click Save.

Note: The icon A green check icon appears. indicates that the connection was successfully established.
