External partner agents

External partner agents are currently not available in on-premises deployments.

You can directly connect external partner agents from the watsonx Orchestrate catalog. External partner agents are developed by IBM-approved partners and listed in the agent catalog for easy discovery and integration.

Accessing external partner agents in the catalog

Go to the watsonx Orchestrate catalog to explore available external partner agents. Browse these agents the same way you browse prebuilt agents in the platform.

To identify an external partner agent, check the Published by label on the agent tile. Agents that are built by partners display the provider’s name, such as "By 11x".

Viewing agent details

Before you use an external partner agent, review its details within the catalog to determine whether it suits your requirements. You can find information such as:

  • Agent description

  • Supported languages

  • Publisher's name

  • Configuration details, including API URL and agent ID

Using external partner agents

You cannot use an external partner agent on its own or as a template in watsonx Orchestrate. Instead, you can add it as a collaborator agent that works with a watsonx Orchestrate agent.

With external partner agents, you can bring third-party capabilities into your workflows and expand what is possible with watsonx Orchestrate.
