IBM watsonx is deployed on a multi-zone region network. The availability of services and features can vary across regional data centers.
Regional availability of services on IBM Cloud
To access the list of available services and view regional availability of each service on IBM Cloud, select Services catalog from the navigation menu.
IBM watsonx is available in the following regional data centers:

The Governance console is available. Because watsonx.ai is not hosted in this region, evaluation capabilities are limited to traditional (Non-WML and Headless) deployments and LLM scenarios with detached prompt templates. The following features are not available in N. Virginia deployments.
- Evaluations using watsonx.ai Runtime (WML) as the machine learning provider
- Evaluating prompt templates in projects
- Evaluating prompt templates in deployment spaces
- Configuring generative AI quality evaluations
- Inline (non-detached) prompt templates in Evaluation Studio
- Prompt setup workflows in multilingual evaluations
- Configuring fairness or drift v2 evaluations for WML-hosted models

Regional availability and Governance console
Governance console provides integrations with IBM and third-party services. These integrations are available in all regions where Governance console is supported, with the following exceptions:
The GovCloud region has the following restrictions:
- For watsonx.governance, the integration supports model management.
- Data exports are limited to Amazon S3 within the GovCloud region; other destinations are not supported.
- Integration with watsonx.ai, Watson Assistant, and IBM Knowledge Catalog in GovCloud are not supported.
- Integration with IBM products that are not deployed within the GovCloud region are not supported.
- Third-party service integrations, including feed providers, are not supported.
