Viewing agents

View agents and the metadata that is collected for them in Governance console.
Remember: These steps are based on the predefined views and workflows that are provided in Governance console. The views and workflows might be different for you, depending on how your administrator configured them.

Click Primary menu > Inventory > Agents. Click the agent that you want to view.

Or use the dashboard to view an agent.
  • Agents with tasks that are assigned to you are on the My Tasks tab. For example, the tab shows the agents that are waiting for your review.
  • Your dashboard might also include a Favorites panel where you can access your agents.
Note: You might not see certain sections of a task view, depending on how your administrator configured the agent workflows in Governance console.

When you view an agent, you can see details such as its status, purpose, role, and owner. If an agent is hosted on an agent platform, such as watsonx Orchestrate, you can open the agent by clicking the Third party link.

If you're assigned to the current task for the agent, the Actions menu is displayed.
  • Check the Key Items panel to see the fields that you need to complete.
  • For help about what to enter in the fields, click the information icons.
  • See the Workflow Information panel to determine which workflow stage the agent is in.
  • Click the Action menu to see the actions you can take.

Viewing evaluation metrics for watsonx Orchestrate agents

Applies to
watsonx.governance as a Service on AWS

For watsonx Orchestrate agents, the task view includes the evaluation metrics from watsonx Orchestrate. The task view also shows the date and time that the metrics were last refreshed and when the next refresh will occur.

The task view includes the following sections:

Metric Sync Information
Use this section to see when the metrics were last refreshed, the status of the synchronization process, and the synchronization interval.

The Metric Sync Status and Last Metric Sync fields reflect the last sync, whether the sync was for the build time metrics or production metrics.

If you’re the owner of the agent or an administrator, you can edit the Schedule interval.

Build Time Metrics
This section shows the metrics from the development phase. You'll see values in this section for both nonproduction and production watsonx Orchestrate agents,.

You can synchronize the metrics by clicking Sync.

Production Metrics
This section shows the metrics from the production phase. You'll see values in this section only if the agent has the Validation status or higher.

You can synchronize the metrics by clicking Sync.

An agent that is in production has values for both build-time and production metrics. The Build time metrics section shows the metrics that were collected when the agent was in development (Draft status). The Production metrics section shows metrics for the agent in production (Validation or higher status).

An agent that is in Draft status has values for the build-time metrics only. The production metrics show zeros.

Setting thresholds for metrics

When metric thresholds are not set, the values in the breach status fields in the agent task view show 0. Also, when you view the task view of a metric, you see an error message in the Breach status field. To resolve these issues, set thresholds for the metrics.

To set a threshold for a metric, click Quick view icon or click the name of the metric. In the Metric Measurement Information section, edit the values for the thresholds.
Figure 1. Metric thresholds configuration
The Metric Measurement Information section of the metric task view is shown. The Yellow Threshold, Red Threshold, and Value Range fields are empty and need to be set.

Associating an agent with a use case

In the Relationships section, click Use cases, and then click Add. Select one or more agents, and then click Done. The agents are added to the use case.
