Associating a Report with a Specific Project
Watson™ Explorer Engine uses a number of separate tables within a single SQL database to store different types of report items. By default, the reports that you generate display the information from those databases in their entirety. This is probably not what you want to see if you are generating reports on a system that hosts multiple Watson Explorer Engine applications, each of which is defined by a single Watson Explorer Engine project on that system. For example, report items such as Top queries and Top sources are more meaningful within the context of a single application than they are across multiple applications that may have completely different audiences and users.
Watson Explorer Engine makes it easy to create reports that only apply to a single project by providing a number of per-report customizations. Known as Global Report Items, these enable you to apply different conditions to a given report.
Adding a global report item to a report is very similar to adding a specific report item. Global Report Item is the bottom selection on the Report Items drop-down menu. After selecting this item, click Add. At the next screen that appears, click Add Report Item Component. A screen like the one shown in Figure 1 displays.

To limit a report to a single project/application, select the Condition - limit by project item on this screen and click Add. In the screen that displays, enter the name of the projects about which you want this report to provide data, and click OK. From the Editing: Global Conditions page, click Save. The next time that you display this report, it will only contain data for the specified projects.
For the purposes of this tutorial, select the Condition - limit by project item on this screen and click Add. In the screen that displays, enter the name of an existing application project. If you have not yet begun creating your application and have worked through other Watson Explorer Engine tutorials, you can enter the name query-meta, the default project that is delivered with Watson Explorer Engine.
