Writing and Editing XML

The XML item in the left-hand navigation menu in Watson™ Explorer Engine enables you to create new XML elements and edit existing ones. This provides extremely fine-grained control over the content and attributes of those XML elements.

All Watson Explorer Engine components, such as projects, sources, search collections, displays, knowledge bases, dictionaries, and so on, can also be created and edited graphically using the Watson Explorer Engine administration tool. Once any of these elements exist, they can still be edited in XML form by clicking the xml link that appears in the upper right-hand portion of related pages in the Watson Explorer Engine administration tool. Editing these Watson Explorer Engine components in XML mode does so by using the screen and tabs discussed in the next few sections.
