About This Tutorial

This tutorial walks you through the process of creating a Watson™ Explorer Engine application called auto-class-tutorial that searches a well-known set of data, and then using the Watson Explorer Engine Auto Classification capabilities to create a taxonomy for the data used by that application.

The Watson Explorer Engine includes a complete, working version of this tutorial that you can use to compare any component of your in-progress application against a correctly-configured example. The sample portions of the working application that Watson Explorer Engine provides are the following:

  • Sample project: enron-email-tutorial
  • Sample search collection: enron-email-tutorial
  • Sample source: enron-email-tutorial
  • Sample display: enron-email-tutorial-display

Each section of this tutorial identifies the portion(s) of the working example that are equivalent to the portion(s) of the sample Watson Explorer Engine application that you are creating.
