Policy-based high availability policy-based replication(PBHA-PBR)

Starting with VM Recovery Manager DR Version 1.10, the solution supports Policy-Based High Availability Policy-Based Replication (PBHA-PBR). PBHA-PBR extends the policy-based replication model by providing high availability at the home site while continuing to use storage-defined replication policies for disaster recovery operations. PBHA-PBR uses PBHA-enabled storage agents at the home site and a PBR-enabled storage agent at the backup site to support high-availability and disaster-recovery workflows.

PBHA-PBR operates at the storage partition level and supports DR, HADR, and HADRHA deployments on supported IBM Storwize and FlashSystem storage systems. Replication policies are created within storage partitions and are applied to the volume groups (VGs) that contain VM Recovery Manager-managed volumes. Each workgroup can use a separate storage partition and replication policy, which enables workload-specific replication management.

If a host group is created without workgroup support, assign a replication policy to the host group. If a host group is created with workgroup support enabled, assign a replication policy and volume group name to each workgroup. Each workgroup can use a different replication policy based on the associated storage partition.
