Modifying system tunable attributes

You can view and update system tunable attributes in the Policies tab. To update the system tunable attributes, complete the following steps: Following are the tunable attributes.

  1. In the navigation pane of the VM Recovery Manager DR GUI, click the host group for which you want to modify the attributes.
  2. Select an environment.
  3. Click the PoliciesThe screen displays system tunable attributes.

Replication Type

Defines the replication mode (example., Asynchronous) used for VM data synchronization.

Auto Discovery Time

Sets the scheduled time (in hours) for automatic system and VM discovery.

Lose VIOS Redundancy

Determines if the system can continue with reduced VIOS redundancy.

HWS Language

Specifies the language used for the Hardware Support interface.

Duplicate Event Processing

Enables handling of duplicate events to improve event consistency.

VM Auto Discovery

Automatically detects and adds new VMs to the recovery setup.

Auto Reverse Mirror

Automatically reverses mirror direction during failback.

Notification Level

Sets the severity level of system notifications (example., Low).

Quick Discovery Interval

Defines how often (in minutes) quick discovery runs.

Custom Script Timeout

Specifies how long (in seconds) custom scripts can run before timing out.

Trace File Size

Sets the maximum size (in MB) for system trace logs.

Ping

Enables system availability checks using ping.

Deep Discovery

Performs a detailed scan of system and VM configurations.

Min Redundancy Path

Defines the minimum number of redundant paths required for reliability.

Connection Timeout

Specifies the wait time (in seconds) before a connection attempt is aborted.

HMC Ping Timer

Sets the frequency (in seconds) to ping the HMC for availability.

SA Ping Timer

Defines the interval (in seconds) to ping the Storage Agent for health checks.

Cleanup Files Interval

Controls how frequently (in days) old or unused files are cleaned up.

Ksys Spooling

Determines how KSYS spools logs or data for background processing.

HMC Port Number

Sets the port used to communicate with the HMC (default is 443).

VPMEM override

Overrides default VPMEM settings during operations.

Storage Group Update

Controls automatic updates to storage group configurations.
