EMC Unity Storage System
The KSYS subsystem communicates with the EMC Unity storage systems by using Rest APIs provided by the storage vendors. Refer to storage vendor documentation for any specific security requirements for these APIs. The VM Recovery Manager DR solution supports EMC Unity storage system version 5.0.6.0.6.252, or later, and supports both asynchronous and synchronous replication.
The KSYS subsystem creates a consistency group at the home site and at the backup site for EMC Unity storage system. Unlike other storage systems, you do not need to create a disk-pair, the KSYS subsystem automatically creates the disk-pair. If a disk with the same name is not found in the target storage, the KSYS subsystem creates a LUN with the same name and with the same size as the source storage and uses the LUN as a disk-pair. If there is a disk that is part of a consistency group on which replication session is running, the EMC Unity storage system does not allow you to add or remove disks from the consistency group, or perform any other disk management operations. Any update in the disk configuration during the replication session will break the existing replication session and a new replication session will start with the updated disk configurations.
