Migrate a previous version of Web Administration Tool configuration
Migrate a previous supported version of Web Administration Tool configuration to continue to use the same settings with a later version of Web Administration Tool.
To migrate an existing Web Administration Tool configuration of a previous supported version with the idswmigr command, the following conditions must be met:
- The previous version of Web Administration Tool is installed on the computer.
- The previous version of WebSphere®WebSphere Application Server is installed on the computer.
- The previous version of Web Administration Tool is deployed in the previous version of WebSphere Application Server.
- Install Web Administration Tool that is provided with the current version of IBM® Verify Directory.
- Install the WebSphere Application Server that is supported for the current version of IBM Verify Directory.
- Do not deploy Web Administration Tool in the WebSphere Application Server.
Web Administration Tool from any of the following configurations is supported for migration:
- Directory Server Versions 6.4, 10.0, 10.0.1, 10.0.2, 10.0.3, 10.0.4 and WebSphere Application Server, versions 8.5.5 or 9.0.5.
When you use the idswmigr command to migrate configuration settings of a previous version of Web Administration Tool, the command does the following operations:
- Saves the configuration files for the previous version of Web Administration Tool.
- Removes the previous version of Web Administration Tool from the previous version of WebSphere Application Server.
- Backs up the configuration of the previous version of WebSphere Application ServerWebSphere to a temporary location that you specify.
- Restores the configuration of the previous version of WebSphere Application ServerWebSphere to a location.
- Deploys Web Administration Tool in the current version of WebSphere Application Server that is provided with IBM Verify Directory, Version 11.0.1.
- Migrates the previous Web Administration Tool configuration files and restores these files in the later version of WebSphere Application ServerWebSphere.
Note: Use IBM Installation Manager to migrate the Web Administration Tool only if the following condition is met. The major version of WebSphere Application Server to be migrated is smaller than the major version of the newly installed WebSphere Application Server.
