IBM® Verify Directory might fail to create a directory server instance.

On AIX® and Linux™ systems, IBM Verify Directory might fail to create a directory server instance because of one of the following reasons:
  • Not enough disk space in the /home or /export/home directory
  • The root user might not have write permission on the /home or /export/home directory
