Installation of IBM DB2

To create an IBM® Verify Directory instance with a DB2® database configured with it, a supported version of DB2 Server product must be installed on your computer.

The IBM Verify Directory Server software is available from IBM Fix Central. The DB2 Standard Edition and High Capacity Activation Keys are available inside the IBM Verify Directory product packages and also from Passport Advantage®. Post installation of DB2, when you run IBM Verify Directory installation, the property file (ldapdb.properties) is updated with the details of the supported DB2 information.

If your computer contains multiple supported versions of DB2 installed on it, you can use one of the supported DB2 installations and configure with your directory server instance. For more information about the updating the ldapdb.properties file, see Updating the ldapdb.properties file manually.

Before installation of IBM Verify Directory, you must install either DB2 version 12.1.x or version 11.5.9 or later Server product.

Installation combination of IBM Verify Directory Version 11.0.1 with DB2 version 12.1.x requires an Operating System that is supported by both products. This combination is only supported on AIX 7.3, RHEL 9 (x86_64), RHEL 10 (x86_64), SLES 15 (x86_64), RHEL 9 (IBM Z and IBM LinuxONE), RHEL 10 (IBM Z and IBM LinuxONE), SLES 15 (IBM Z and IBM Linux One), Windows Server 2022 and Windows Server 2025.
