Starting Instance Administration Tool

Start Instance Administration Tool to create and administer a directory server instance or a proxy server instance.

Before you begin

To use Instance Administration Tool, you must install IBM® Verify Directory with the Server, Proxy Server, or both features. To run Instance Administration Tool, log in with the following credentials.

AIX®, or Linux®: Log in as the root user.
Windows™: Log in as a member of the administrator group.

IBM Semeru Runtime Certified Edition must be installed and the java command must be in the path.

Procedure

To start Instance Administration Tool, use one of the following options.

Options to open Instance Administration Tool	Command to run
Installation of the IBM Verify Directory Server feature	On Summary page, click Instance Administration Tool (idsxinst).
The idsxinst command	Windows Change the current directory to the sbin directory in the IBM Verify Directory installation location. Run the idsxinst command. Note: You can also click Start > All Programs > IBM Verify Directory 11.0.1 > Instance Administration Tool. AIX, or Linux Change the current directory to the sbin directory in the IBM Verify Directory installation location. Run the idsxinst command.
