Containerized deployment
HashiCorp Vault can be deployed in containerized environments on IBM Z and LinuxONE platforms,
providing flexible deployment options for enterprise secret management. Container deployments offer
advantages including simplified installation, consistent environments across development and
production, and efficient resource utilization. Two primary containerized deployment options are available:
- IBM z/OS Container Extensions (zCX) for native z/OS integration.
- Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform for Kubernetes-based orchestration
Both deployment methods support high availability configurations with Raft-based integrated storage and can be configured with enterprise features including disaster recovery replication. The choice between zCX and OpenShift depends on your infrastructure requirements, existing platform investments, and operational preferences.
