Creating environment tags

Create environment tags that can be used to specify application environment targets.

You can specify deployment targets by adding environment tags to application environments. Normally, when you assign several application environments to a release environment, all application environments are targeted during a deployment. To restrict the deployment to just one of the application environments, assign environment tags to the application environments. Then, during the deployment, select the environment tag that you want to target. Only application environments with the selected tag are targeted.

Tags are identified by name and color. Environment tags, like task tags, are assigned distinctive colors.

You can use environment tags to sort the Application Environments and Release Environment Configuration windows.

  1. From the IBM® UrbanCode™ Release dashboard, click Environments, and then click Tags.
The Application Environment Tags window displays all environment tags.
  2. Click Add New.
  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the tag.
  4. In the Color color picker, select a color for the tag.
  5. Click Save.
The tag is displayed in the Application Environment Tags window.
Assign environment tags to application environments., and then add the tags to automated tasks.
