Cleaning up generic process history files

You can clean up generic process history files that are generated when you run the process manually.

Generic processes can be run as part of a deployment process, or independent of deployment processes. Cleaning up of these two types of generic processes is handled differently in IBM® UrbanCode® Deploy. In the traditional cleanup process, all logs associated with the deployment process, including generic process logs, are cleaned up. See Cleaning up deployment history files for more information. However, logs that are generated by running a generic process manually are cleaned up by using the generic process cleanup settings.
Note: This procedure does not impact the generic process history files that are part of a deployment process.

The administrator enables the generic process history cleanup and specifies when the cleanup process begins, the duration of the cleanup, and the number of days to retain the process history. By default, the generic process history cleanup enablement settings are turned off.

Important: The cleanup cannot be undone. Carefully choose the time and duration for which you want to delete the records.

To enable, disable, or configure generic process history cleanup settings, an administrator completes these steps:

  1. In IBM UrbanCode Deploy, click the Settings tab, and then in the System column, click System Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Process History Cleanup area.
  3. Set Enable Generic Process History Cleanup to On.
  4. In Daily Cleanup Start Time, select the hour to start the daily cleanup process.
  5. In Daily Cleanup Duration (hours), specify the number of hours for the cleanup process to run.
  6. In Days to Retain Generic Process History, specify the number of days to keep the generic process history before the cleanup process removes the history.
When cleanup begins, a progress indicator shows details about the cleanup process.
