Installing Db2 Administration Foundation PTF

It is recommended to install the Program Temporary Fix (PTF) after installing Db2® Administration Foundation (FMID: HAFX120). Use the following process for installing the PTF.

Procedure

  1. Shut down UMS and all Zowe processes.
  2. Take a backup copy of the UMS PARMLIB data set.
  3. Apply the program temporary fix (PTF) in SMP/E.
    Important: Some PTFs can have HOLD information for additional actions required before or after applying the PTF. For those PTFs, you need to follow the instructions in the HOLD statements reported by SMP/E.

    For example, each Db2 Administration Foundation PTF depends on one or more UMS PTFs. You must apply all those prerequisite PTFs to UMS, before applying Db2 Administration Foundation PTF. For details on the interdependency among UMS and UMS experience products, refer to UMS PTF compatibility and the SMP/E HOLD information for all PTFs that you apply.

  4. Rerun IZPEXPIN with the same parameters.
    Note: Rerunning the IZPEXPIN might rearrange the UMS PARMLIB member content. For more information, refer to Restrictions on merging UMS PARMLIB members with IZPEXPIN.
  5. Restart Zowe.

Results

The IZPEXPIN job is resubmitted, and successful job completion will confirm the installation of Db2 Administration Foundation PTF.
