Exploring Db2 subsystems

The Db2 subsystems option provides a tree view of the available subsystems and their associated object types. You can use the tree view to quickly navigate to the required object type and view the list of Db2 objects within it.

About this task

Note: If you want to know the fields that support the user interface (UI) state, refer to Fields supporting user interface (UI) state.

Procedure

  1. On the navigation menu, click Db2 subsystems.
  2. From the list of subsystems, select the required subsystem and the object type.
    The Explore objects page opens.
  3. Specify the required values in the Object name and Schema fields to narrow down your search results.
Note: The object name and the schema can include alphanumeric (A-Z, a-z, 0-9) characters, special characters, and (spaces). The following wild card characters are supported: ! ? % * _
    For example,
    • If you specify Name matches !ABC, the results will exclude all the objects that begin with ABC.
    • If you specify Name matches A9_A, the results will include all the objects that begin with A9 and end with A, such as A91A, A9CA, and so on.
    • If you specify Name starts with A9%, the results will include all the objects that contain A9, such as A91A, A91234, and so on.
Important: You can use ! to exclude objects only when you use it with the search criterion matches.
  4. To see the search result, click Apply.
    Notes:
    • To save this search for using it later, click Save as and provide a name.
      • The name can include alphanumeric (A-Z, a-z, 0-9) and certain special characters. It cannot have leading or trailing spaces, or the following special characters: <, >, /, or \.
      • The name is case-insensitive; that is, lowercase and uppercase letters are not distinguished.
    • To view the list of searches that have been previously saved, click Load search.
