Backing up the stats file and re-creating it
In certain situations, you might want to re-create the stats file. For example, if you performed test copy operations for which statistics were recorded, you might want to create a new stats file to be used for your actual copy operations.
About this task
To both back up the contents of the existing stats file and create a new stats file, run the sample job that Tape Optimizer supplies in the GTODEFST member of the runtime_HLQ.CNTL library (where runtime_HLQ is the high-level qualifier that you specified during customization). Edit the JCL, as needed, and then run the job.
The new stats file will have an initial size that is the same as that of the original stats file.
