The TEP options panel is used to designate a copy request
as a template.
About this task
Copy request templates are unique in that they can only be
submitted from the TEP console. If you designate the copy request
job as a template you must also specify a name and a description of
the template. The name and description are displayed on the TEP console
as an available take action command.To specify TEP options for
a copy request:
Procedure
- From the Tape Optimizer Primary
Menupanel, choose option 2. Copy Requests.
The Copy Requests panel opens.
- Perform one of the following actions:
- If you are defining a new copy request, type a forward slash
(/) next to the Create a new tape copy request by VOLSER option
and press Enter.
- If you are editing a pending copy request, type a forward
slash (/) in the Sel column next to the request,
and press Enter.
The Create/Edit Request panel opens.
- From the Options pull-down menu,
choose option 7. TEP Options .

- Specify a forward slash (/) in the Generate
Copy Job Template field to indicate that you want to generate
a copy request as a template.
- Type a valid PDSE member name where the template will be
stored in the Action member name field.
The PDSE member name can contain up to 8 characters. The template
will appear on the TEP console as an available user action command
with the name that you specify.
- Type a description for this template in the Action
description field.
The description can contain
up to 20 characters. The template will appear on the TEP console as
an available user action with this description.
- Press F3 (End) to save your changes.
The Create/Edit
Request panel is re-displayed.
