Customization steps

You must complete several customization steps to tailor Tape Optimizer for your environment. You will not be able to use Tape Optimizer until you do so.

The following list summarizes the required and optional customization steps.

You also might need to perform these additional tasks:

If you did not generate the VSAM files that the product requires when running the customization script, you will need to create these files manually. See Manually allocating the product’s VSAM files.
If you are implementing multiple instances of Tape Optimizer, you will need to define a Request Database file for each one. See Defining an additional Request Database.
