AOS Settings

About this task

Note: IBM service typically performs this operation and it is recommended that you do not make any changes.

Procedure

From the System Console GUI, select Call Home Settings > AOS Settingsto configure Assist-on-Site (AOS). See Figure 1.
Note: AOS 4.0 client can access only servers with AOS 4.0 and later. (System console code level 9.2.x or later)
  • To Start, Stop, or Restart the AOS service, click the corresponding button in the AOS Configuration section.
  • If you want to start AOS on boot, place a check mark next to Start AOS on Boot and click Apply.
  • If you want to enable AOS in unattended mode, place a check mark next to Enable Unattended Mode and click Apply. If you want attended mode, clear the box next to Enable Unattended Mode and click Apply.
  • If a customer is not using DNS, place a check mark next to Enable No-DNS mode. You are prompted to enter the IP address of the AOS relay server. Click the default option to populate the field with the last known IP address. If the default IP address is incorrect, enter them manually and click Apply.
  • Connect Through HTTP Proxy implies there is a customer HTTP Proxy server that the customer requires all remote access traffic to go through. When you select this option, enter the Proxy IP Address and Proxy Port. Refer to Table 1 If necessary, enter any required proxy server username and password.

    1) IBM recommends the use of all AOS broker for redundancy. A client may restrict the use to a specific broker as needed, requiring a manual change of the AOS configuration.

  • You can add and delete AOS port forwarding targets in the Manage Port Forwarding section.
    Note:
    • Port forwarding on the same port (for example, port 80) to different machines is allowed, if each entry has a different alias name.
    • Port forwarding can be allowed for attached storage systems using this function.
  • To add a new port forwarding entry:
    • Enter an Alias for the port forwarding target in the field under Alias
    • Enter the destination port in the field under Port
    • Enter the Hostname or IP address of the port forwarding target in the field under Host Target
    Click Add to save these entries.
  • To delete a port forwarding entry, place a check mark next to one or more entries in the port forwarding target list. Click Delete Selected Entries to remove these port forwarding targets.
