Scheduling Configuration Backups

About this task

Note: IBM service typically performs this operation and it is recommended that you do not make any changes. This procedure works only with 3957/TS7700.

Procedure

Right-click from anywhere in the Desktop to view the Main Menu.
From the Main Menu, select System Console Actions > Console Configuration Utility .
Type service in the Username field, servicein the Password field, then click OK to start the Console Configuration application.
Select Backup/Restore from Figure 1.
You see Figure 1.

Select one of the following options:
- Dailyto request a daily backup
- Weekly to request a weekly backup (default)
- – – OR – –
- Monthly to request a monthly backup
If you do not want to reschedule configuration backups, go to Step8.
Choose the host system that you want to back up to, or the Backup Host IP Address defaults to the IP address of the main attached system.
Select Save Backup Schedule.
You are prompted with a confirmation screen. Click OK to continue.
If you want to determine when the last offload was performed, select Check Offload Status.
The screen refreshes. In the upper left corner, you see a message like:

Last offload was performed on Wed Feb 13 11:25:28 UTC 2008
Files were offloaded to: 172.31.1.150
```
To reset to the default schedule, select Restore Defaults.

Note: The default backup host is the primary system that is defined in Machine Settings, under the submenu Call Home Settings.
