Restoring Configuration Data from a Remote Host

Note: IBM service typically performs this operation and it is recommended that you do not make any changes.

If the operating system was reinstalled from scratch, then the system console configuration can be recovered by adding the Remote host IP address to the attached systems and then recovering the system console configuration from that remote host.

Procedure

  1. From System Console GUI, Select Attached Systems.
  2. Add the Remote host IP address and click Add System.
    A warning dialog box appears, informing you that it may take several minutes. Click OK to close the window.
  3. From the System Console GUI, select Backup/Restore > Restore Console Configuration Data > Restore from remote host.
  4. In the Remote host input area, type the host IP address (172.31.1.xx).
  5. Click Restore the Selected Configuration Data to begin the Restore.
  6. Select OK to reboot the system and complete the restore with the configuration data.
