Accessing Console Settings

Before you begin

TSSC/IMC configuration is an SSR task and typically settings should not be modified by customer. Making changes may result in unexpected loss of functionality.

About this task

Use the Console Settings dialog box to set up the system console External and Grid Network Interfaces.

The TSSC and IMC system console comes pre-configured with the default IP address 172.31.1.1, subnet mask 255.255.0.0, and hostname 'tssnet1' on the Internal Network Interface (see Figure 1). This interface is used to communicate with the tape subsystems, as seen in Figure 1. These settings should not be modified unless it is instructed by next level of support.

Note: If you change the hostname from the default tssnet1, it must conform to the following guideline: A name (Net, Host, Gateway, or Domain name) is a text string up to 63 characters that contains only ASCII letters a-z (case-insensitive), digits (0-9), and hyphen (-).

The system console External and Grid Network Interfaces do not come preconfigured. You must use the Console Settings dialog box to set up these interfaces, if you are to use Ethernet call home method or Autonomic Ownership Takeover Manager function.

Procedure

From the System Console GUI, select Console Settings. The Console Settings screen appears as shown in the figure below.
