Data Protection for SAP HANA must
be configured using the setup script before it can work with the Tivoli® Storage
Manager. The setup
script setup.sh is stored in the Data Protection for SAP HANA installation
directory /opt/tivoli/tsm/tdp_hana.
Before you begin
Ensure that the
Tivoli Storage
Manager node name
is specified in the server stanza of the
dsm.sys file.
About this task
The Data Protection for SAP HANA configuration
files are stored in the configuration directory, /usr/sap/SystemID/SYS/global/hdb/opt/hdbconfig.
Procedure
- Log in to Data Protection for SAP HANA using
the root user ID, and change to the installation directory, /opt/tivoli/tsm/tdp_hana.
- Run the Data Protection for SAP HANA setup.sh script,
by entering the following command:
./setup.sh
- When prompted, enter the SAP HANA system ID,
or accept the proposed value.
- Enter the instance number or accept the default value of 00.
- Enter the password for the SYSTEM user.
- Choose to configure the Tivoli Storage
Manager server,
or defer the server configuration. For information about

- Choose one of the following Tivoli Storage
Manager server password
handling methods:
- Automatic password handing: to store the Tivoli Storage
Manager node password
in the Tivoli Storage
Manager API.
When the password expires on the server, the Tivoli Storage
Manager client and
server generates a new password. The API updates the password on the
client.
- Manual password handling: to store the node password in the Tivoli Storage
Manager for ERP
configuration file. When the password expires, you must update it
by using the hdbbackint -f password command.
- Enter the Tivoli Storage
Manager server name as defined in the dsm.sys file.
The following parameters must be entered to enable backup and restore
of databases and redo log files to the Tivoli Storage
Manager
- Enter the Tivoli Storage
Manager node name
for the ADSMNODE parameter.
- Enter the Tivoli Storage
Manager management class for the BRBACKUPMGTCLASS parameter.
- Enter the Tivoli Storage
Manager management class for
the BRARCHIVEMGTCLASS parameter.
- Enter a password for the Tivoli Storage
Manager node. After
you enter the password, it is verified. For a scale-out system with
automatic password handling, this step is repeated for each SAP HANA node
that belongs to the scale-out system.
