You can install Tivoli® Storage Manager by using the IBM Installation Manager graphical wizard.
Take the following actions before you start the installation:
Ensure that the
user ID that you plan to use during the installation is a user with
local Administrator authority.
install.bat -g -vmargs "-DBYPASS_TSM_REQ_CHECKS=true"
Otherwise,
update the following file to add the -DBYPASS_TSM_REQ_CHECKS=true flag.
The dash in the -DBYPASS_TSM_REQ_CHECKS=true flag
is required and must be added on a new line after the -vmargs flag.

You can view installation log files by clicking from the Installation Manager tool. To collect these log files, click from the Installation Manager tool.

you install a new Tivoli Storage
Manager server,

learn about configuring your server.
If a
native device driver is available on Windows for the tape drives or
medium changers that you plan to use, use the native device driver.
If a native device driver is not available on Windows for the tape
drives or medium changers that you plan to use, install the Tivoli Storage
Manager device driver
by issuing the dpinst.exe /a command. The dpinst.exe file
is in the device driver directory. The default directory is C:\Program
Files\Tivoli\TSM\device\drivers.
