Cluster components and alerts

Use the main view cluster image to identify a cluster’s components, their details, and any associated alerts.

Click any component on the image to display its details, including:
  • Health
  • State
  • Model
Hardware components that are affected by an event are highlighted and marked by an alert icon. Click the highlighted area to open a tooltip window that displays health and event details for the component. Click the tooltip to start the Events panel and review details of the event. Table 1 shows components that can be displayed on the main view cluster image.

Component Location and role
Ethernet switch The Ethernet switch that is at the top of the frame that connects to the disk cache ( SMC or EdgeCore ).
Note: Cluster health is dependent upon the health of the Ethernet cache interface. If the health of the Ethernet switch is degraded or failed, the cluster health is shown as Degraded.
TS7700 Cache The disk cache controller and drawers.
IBM® System p Server The TS7700 Server, in the middle of the frame. Its label displays one of these model numbers:
  • 3957-VEC
  • 3957-VED
  • 3948-VED
Ports The Ethernet and Fibre ports that are at the back of the frame.

Access the ports view by clicking the reverse view arrow at the bottom right corner of the cluster main view image. Refer to Table 1 for port view elements and descriptions.
