This topic describes how to connect to the IBM® TS7700 Management
Interface.
Before you begin
The TS7700 must
first be installed and configured. A supported web browser must also be installed. To ensure that
all the functions of the management interface are usable, you need to enable cookies and JavaScript™
in the browser and disable the browser's function of blocking pop-up windows. If you use an
unsupported browser, some pages might not display correctly.Following is the list of supported browsers:
- Microsoft Edge
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 11
- Mozilla Firefox
- Google Chrome
Note: Ensure that the browser is up to date to have the latest bug fixes and security
enhancements.
†Compatibility View is not supported by the
TS7700. To toggle
OFF Compatibility View:
- Open the TS7700
Management Interface for a cluster by using Internet Explorer version 10.
- In the browser menu bar, deselect or select the Compatibility View button on the browser address
bar to change it from an active icon to an outline. Internet Explorer remembers this setting each
time the management interface address is accessed.
Note: You cannot open the management interface in multiple tabs or windows by using the same
browser.
IBM® supports higher versions of the browsers as long as the vendors do not
remove or disable functionality that the product relies upon. For browser levels higher than the
versions that are certified with the product, customer support accepts usage-related and
defect-related service requests. As with operating system and virtualization environments, if the
support center cannot re-create the issue in our lab, we might ask the client to re-create the
problem on a certified browser version to determine whether a product defect exists. Defects are not
accepted for cosmetic differences between browsers or browser versions that do not affect the
functional behavior of the product. If a problem is identified in the product, defects are accepted.
If a problem is identified with the browser, IBM might investigate potential solutions or workaround
that the client can implement until a permanent solution becomes available.
About this task
The following steps help you connect to the TS7700 Management
Interface through an installed web browser.
Procedure
- In the address bar of a supported web browser, enter http:// followed
by the virtual IP entered during installation,
followed by /Console. The virtual IP is one
of three customer IP addresses given during installation. The complete
URL takes this form: http://virtual IP address/Console.
HTTPS Note: If
HTTPS exclusive access is enabled, you cannot access the management
interface of a remote cluster. You can only access the management
interface of the accessing, local cluster.
- Press the Enter key on your keyboard
or the Go button on your web browser.
Bookmarking Note: The web browser redirects
to http://virtual IP address/cluster ID associated with
virtual IP address. If you bookmark this link and the
cluster ID changes, you must update your bookmark before the bookmark
resolves correctly. Alternatively, you can bookmark the more general
URL, http://virtual IP address/Console, which
does not require an update following a cluster ID change.
- The login page for the management interface loads. The
default login name is admin and the default
password is admin.
