Cluster families

Use the Cluster Families option on the Actions menu of the Grid Summary panel to add, modify, or delete a cluster family. Cluster families are used to group clusters in the grid according to a common purpose.

Data transfer speeds between TS7700 Clusters sometimes vary. Clusters grouped in a family permit microcode to optimize connection performance within the family group.
Note: The cluster family configuration is available only on clusters that operate at microcode level 8.6.0.xx or later and are part of a grid.
To view or modify cluster family settings, first verify that these permissions are granted to your assigned user role. Then select Cluster Families from the Actions menu to display the details shown in Table 1
Table 1. Details of the Cluster Families modal window
Detail Description
Cluster names Clusters are identified by nickname or sequence ID and cluster number (shown in parentheses).
Unassigned clusters Clusters not already assigned to a family are aligned at the top of the modal window. If all clusters are assigned to a family, this area is collapsed and displays the message: There are no unassigned clusters. You can drag and drop clusters from this area to an existing family, or from an existing family to this area.
