Cluster families
Use the Cluster Families option on the Actions menu of the Grid Summary panel to add, modify, or delete a cluster family. Cluster families are used to group clusters in the grid according to a common purpose.
Data transfer speeds between TS7700 Clusters
sometimes vary. Clusters grouped in a family permit microcode to optimize
connection performance within the family group.
Note: The cluster family
configuration is available only on clusters that operate at microcode
level 8.6.0.xx or later and are part of a grid.
To view or modify cluster family settings, first verify that these
permissions are granted to your assigned user role. Then select Cluster
Families from the Actions menu
to display the details shown in Table 1
Detail | Description |
---|---|
Cluster names | Clusters are identified by nickname or sequence ID and cluster number (shown in parentheses). |
Unassigned clusters | Clusters not already assigned to a family are aligned at the top of the modal window. If all clusters are assigned to a family, this area is collapsed and displays the message: There are no unassigned clusters. You can drag and drop clusters from this area to an existing family, or from an existing family to this area. |

Add a family | To create a new family:
Note: You can create a maximum of eight cluster families.

Move clusters | Select, then drag and drop one or more clusters

Delete a family | Click the X in the top right
corner of a cluster family to delete that family and return its clusters
to the unassigned cluster area. |
