The TS7770 Cache Controller is a self-contained 2U enclosure that mounts in the 3952 Tape
Frame.
The TS7770 Cache Controller provides dynamic disk pools-protected virtual volume disk storage for
fast retrieval of data from cache. The TS7770 Cache Controller offers the following features:
Two node canisters, each with a six-core processor
Two battery backup units (one for each node canister)
Two AC power supplies with imbedded enclosure cooling units
12 NL-SAS 7.2k 3.5" SAS DDMs, each with a storage capacity of 10 TB (9.09 TiB)
12 Gb SAS backbone between drawers
Dual active 16 Gb FC connectivity to 3957-VED processor
Negligible performance impact for encryption.

Optional attachment to a maximum of nine TS7770 Cache Drawers in a TS7770 Base Frame
Optional expansion of cache capabilities:
Once a TS7770 Base Frame is fully populated, a TS7770 Storage Expansion Frame can be added with
a minimum of one TS7770 Cache Controller and one TS7770 Cache Drawer.
Once a total nine TS7770 cache drawers are added to the first controller in the expansion frame,
a second TS7770 Cache Controller along with a minimum of one TS7770 Cache drawer can be added to the
frame. The second controller can support a maximum of nine TS7770 Cache Drawers (same as the first
