TS7700C (Cloud) Configuration
TS7700 Cloud configuration
TS7700C configuration consists of the Cloud Storage Service provider, a TS7700 with FC 5278 and
GRID network connection.
The TS7700C is created by installing and configuring the FC 5278 cloud enablement on a running TS7700.
Customer responsibility before an FC 5278 installation:
- The Cloud Storage Service provider must be installed, configured, and, accessible. (IBM COS or
Amazon ASW)
- The information used to configure for the Cloud Storage Service is also used to enable FC 5278.
- The information is added to Table 1 of the FC 5278 instructions.
- Cables
- (Stand-alone cluster) Ethernet cables or Fiber cables (Fiber over Ethernet) will need to be installed and configured to the network.
- (GRID) - No additional cables needed.
- Verify that all clusters in the GRID are at 8.42.x.x or higher.
FC 5278 installation process:
- Customer installs the feature codes by using the TS7700 MI.
- FC 5278 - Cloud enablement.
- FC 5274 - 1 TB Active Premigration Queue (at lease one is required).
- FC 5279 - 5 TB Active Premigration Queue (Optional after 10 FC 5274 have been installed).
- Customer stops I/O activity before the FC 5278 installation.
- Service conducts the following:
- Installs additional 32 GB of memory
- (Stand-alone only) Connect ethernet/fiber cables to TS7700.
- Configure the GRID IPs for cloud.
- (cluster in a GRID) - check for fenced clusters. - Service prep
- Offline cluster
- Conduct the Cloud MES.
- Online the cluster
- Customer can start I/O.
- Customer sets up cloud accounts and configure pools, containers, and storage groups.
NOTE: There will need to be connectivity between the TS7700 GRID network and Cloud network.
Conduct a ping test for connectivity. See Verifying connectivity within the TS7700 and cloud network..
- Service tests the TS7700.
- The Cloud MES is complete.
