InfoCenter settings

Use this page to upload a new IBM® TS7700 InfoCenter to the accessing cluster's management interface.

Note: The information center for TS7700 version 3.2 cannot be installed on a server that is running an older version of the product.
Current Version
In this section, you can:
  • Identify the version level and date of the InfoCenter installed on the accessing cluster.
  • Access a product database where you can download a .jar file containing a newer version of the InfoCenter.
  • Access an external site displaying the most recent published version of the InfoCenter.
TS7700 Information Center download site
Click this hyperlink (resolves to http://www-933.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/) to open the Fix Central product database and download a new version of the TS7700 Information Center as a .jar file. From this link:
  1. Select System Storage from the Product selector menu.
  2. Select Tape Systems.
  3. Select Tape Virtualiztion.
  4. Select TS7700.
  5. Select All from the Platform menu.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. On the Select Fixes page, check the box next to the desired InfoCenter Update file.
  8. Click Continue.
  9. On the Download Options page, select Download using Download Director.
  10. Select the check box next to Include prerequisites and co-requisite fixes.
  11. Click Continue.
  12. On the Download files using Download Director page, ensure that the check box next to the InfoCenter Update version you want is checked and click Download now. The Download Director applet opens. The downloaded file is saved at C:\DownloadDirector\.
TS7700 Information Center
To verify that the installed version of the InfoCenter is also the most recent version, compare the version level and date of the installed InfoCenter with that of the latest published InfoCenter. You can open and view the latest published InfoCenter by clicking the TS7700 Information Center hyperlink.

In Mozilla Firefox
  1. Right click the hyperlink.
  2. Select Open Link in New Window or Open Link in New Tab.

  1. Right click the hyperlink.
  2. Select Open in New Window or Open in New Tab.
  3. The Information Center opens in a new window or tab.
The version number and date of the IBM TS7700 Customer Information Center is displayed in the right-hand pane of the opening page under the heading Version. If this version is newer than the Current Version displayed on the InfoCenter settings page, Contact your IBM service representative to obtain an updated InfoCenter file.
Released Code Level
This section displays the level of microcode installed on the accessing cluster.
Compare this value to the Released Code Level displayed on the latest published IBM TS7700 Customer Information Center.
InfoCenter File
Use this section to locate and upload the new InfoCenter .jar file on a local drive.
Updated versions of the InfoCenter are distributed as new information is made available. The InfoCenter is distributed as a single .jar file with a filename similar to 
com.ibm.storage.ts7700.doc.3.1.6.v20091013.jar
Once you have received a new .jar file containing the updated InfoCenter (either from the Fix Central database, or from an IBM Service Representative), save the .jar file to a local directory. To upload and install the new InfoCenter:
  1. Click the Browse button to open the File Upload window.
  2. Navigate to the folder containing the new .jar file.
  3. Highlight the new .jar filename and click Open.
  4. Click Upload to install the new InfoCenter on the cluster's management interface.
