Assign authentication policy

Use this page to assign security settings for the IBM® TS7700 Grid.

Note: The following topic has been added to the TS7700 Service Information Center for reference only. LDAP setup and administration is a customer task. Contact the customer to obtain an LDAP user ID and password.
Note: To assign an authentication policy to one or more clusters you must have authorization to modify authentication privileges under the new policy. To verify that you have sufficient privileges with the new policy you must enter a user name and password recognized by the new authentication policy.
To assign an existing policy to one or more clusters:
  1. From the Security Settings page, navigate to the Authentication Policies table.
  2. Select the radio button next to the policy you want to assign.
  3. Select Assign... from the Select Action drop-down menu.
  4. Click Go to open the Assign authentication policy page.
  5. Check the check box next to the name of each cluster to assume the authentication policy.
Note: You can assign only one policy to a cluster at a time, although multiple policies can exist concurrently within a grid if assigned to different clusters. When a policy is assigned to a cluster with an existing policy assignment, the existing policy is removed, or unassigned. To avoid accidental lockout, this operation does not remove authentication policy assignment from any unchecked cluster. To remove policy assignment from a cluster you must assign the cluster to a different policy.
  6. Enter values for the following fields:
    User Name
Your user name for the TS7700 Management Interface. This value is composed of one to 16 Unicode characters.
    Password
Your password for the TS7700 Management Interface. This value is composed of one to 16 Unicode characters.
  7. Select the server from the Connectivity verification drop down. This server is the one where the connectivity verification would be performed before assigning the policy to one or more clusters. The policy assignment would be done only if the verification is successful.
Note: This drop down is available only for the LDAP remote policies. It is not available for the local and SAS policies. Also, this drop down is available only if there are two URLs configured in the security policy.
  8. Click OK to complete the operation. Click Cancel to abandon the operation and return to the Security Settings page.
