Modify password

This topic describes how to modify a user password for the IBM® TS7700 Management Interface.

Note: You can modify a user password only if the user logged in is authorized to modify passwords and if the Local Authentication Policy is enabled on the accessing cluster.
To modify the password associated with a user name:
  1. Log in to the management interface with the user name and current password.
  2. Hover over the user name in the banner as shown in Figure 1. In Figure 1 the user name is "admin".

  3. In the Modify Password dialogue window, enter values for the following fields:
    Current password
    New password
    Verify password
    Password rules:
    • Must be at least six, but no more than 16 alphanumeric characters
    • Must contain at least one number
    • First and last characters cannot be numbers
    • Cannot contain the user name
  4. Click OK to accept and save password changes. Click Cancel to reject changes and retain the current password.
