Copy storage group
Use this page to copy a storage group construct used in the IBM® TS7700 Grid. You can also use this page to copy a storage group from the accessing cluster to other clusters in the grid.
- Copy a storage group from this cluster to other clusters in the grid.
- Use the copy to clusters option to copy a storage group from the active cluster to other
clusters in the grid.Note: For remote or local cloud migration, the constructs settings applicable are the ones of the mounting cluster.Restriction: Both clusters in the grid must operate the same level of microcode.
- From the Storage Groups page, navigate to the Storage Groups table.
- Select the storage group to be copied.
- Select Copy to Clusters from the Select Action drop-down menu.
- Click Go to open the Copy to Clusters page.
- Select each cluster to which the storage group are copied.
- Click OK on the confirmation page to complete the operation.

- From the Storage Groups page, navigate to the Storage Groups table.
- Select the storage group to be copied.
- Select Copy from the Select Action drop-down menu.
- Click Go to open the Copy Storage Group page.
- Enter values for the following fields:
- Name
- The name of the storage group. The value in this field must be
between 1 and 8 characters in length. Each storage group within a
cluster or cluster pair must have
a unique name. Valid characters for this field are:
A-Z, 0-9, $, @, and #
The first character of this field cannot be a number. This is the only field that cannot be modified once added. - Description
- A description of the storage group.
