• Contact your IBM service representative to re-initialize the tape.

• To re-initialize the tape yourself

  1. Eject the tape from the TS7700 Engine library if it has not already been ejected.
  2. Insert the tape into a library with a compatible device type.
  3. Use a host utility like IEBGENER to write a new, internal tape label.
  4. Eject the volume and re-insert it into the TS7700 Engine library.
