Creating specifications

You create specifications to provide information that describes the assets that you manage.

About this task

When you create specifications, enter information that will help you to categorize and manage your assets.

Procedure

  1. Select Portfolio > Set Up > Specifications and select the type of specification that you are creating.
  2. Click Add.
  3. On the General tab, specify a name for the specification.
  4. Select the specification class.
    This field is used to further classify the specification type. For example, you can note that a Furniture Spec is in the Tables and Desks Class.
  5. Select the service class.
    This field is used to group like specifications.
  6. Specify other details about the specification as appropriate.
    To ensure that images are displayed properly in query results, tt is recommended that you do not upload image files that are larger than 2MB.
  7. Click Create Draft.
  8. Save the specification record.

What to do next

You can proceed to enter more details about the specification on the various tabs and you can activate or save and close the specification.
