You can set up the space occupancy policy to use, or not use, the person's primary
organization for occupancy allocations. You can also set this option at the global level and at the
building level.
About this task
Note: In the Dynamic Space Planning (DSP) application, if the occupancy policy is set without the
person's primary organization, then all associated people records are displayed or listed in the
occupancy allocations. But if the occupancy policy is set to the person's primary organization, then
only associated people records with a primary organization are displayed or listed in the occupancy
allocations.
Procedure
- To change the space occupancy settings at the global level:
- Go to .
- Select the Space Management Settings tab.
- In the Space Occupancy Settings section, select or clear the Use People's
Primary Organization for Occupancy Allocations? option.
- Save the settings.
- To change the space occupancy settings at the building level:
- Open a building record. If its status is Active, select the
Revise action.
- Select the Space Management tab.
- If the building-level policy differs from the global-level policy above, then select
the Use Building Level Occupancy Policies? option.
- In the Space Occupancy Settings section, select or clear the Use People's
Primary Organization for Occupancy Allocations? option (whichever is opposite the global
level).
- Save or activate the record.
- To confirm the space occupancy status at the space level:
- Open a space record.
- Select the Allocation tab.
- In the Occupancy Details section, confirm the Occupancy Status.
