Setting up inventory specifications

Specifications are associated with inventory items, and describe and catalog these inventory items. Specifications determine default values for the inventory item, link material orders with available inventory, and are required for the correct processing of inventory items.

Procedure

  1. Select Portfolio > Setup > Specification.
  2. From the Specifications list, select a specification type, such as Building Equipment.
  3. Click the Add action.
  4. On the General and Details tabs, enter the details for the specification.
  5. On the Inventory tab, in the Inventory General section, select the appropriate classifications for each field.
  6. In the Inventory Details section, select the inventory type.
  7. Create and activate the record.
