If a location is not longer in use, you can retire it.
When you retire a location, you must complete disposition information
for audit purposes.
About this task
You manually can remove the associations between the retired
location and people, assets, and organizations, or you can specify
that associations are removed when the retire action is approved.
The location is updated so that the carbon emission value is 0 if
the entire location is retired. When a floor is retired, the carbon
emission value is recalculated when the next carbon footprint calculator
runs. You can retire multiple locations at one time by completing
a Disposition Request from the Requests tab.
Procedure
- In the portfolio, find and open the location that you are
retiring.
- Select the Retire action.
- Complete the details on the disposition form.
Select
the Auto Cleanup options if you want the associations
between the locations and assets, people, and organizations to be
removed automatically.
- Click Create.
What to do next
If you did not select the Auto Cleanup options,
the retired location, including floors and spaces, remains associated
to any assigned assets, people, and organizations. You must manually
remove these associations.
