Self-describing agent installation

Product support files for IBM® Tivoli® Monitoring agent applications must be installed at each IBM Tivoli Monitoring server component. The self-describing agent feature combines the installation of an agent with the automatic dispersal and installation of the associated product support files throughout your IBM Tivoli Monitoring infrastructure.

The self-describing agent feature must be enabled on the following IBM Tivoli Monitoring components:

Hub Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server.
Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server (self-describing agent capability is enabled by default).
Self-describing agent supported agents (self-describing agent capability is enabled by default).
Any Remote Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server the agent is connected to (self-describing agent capability is enabled by default).
