Starting and stopping Data Collector dynamically

To start the service, use the following console command:

S EQADCOL

To stop the service, use the following console command:

P EQADCOL

Data Collector waits for any collection sessions to complete before it stops. The following console command can be used before the stop command to force Data Collector to terminate collection sessions:

F EQADCOL STOP,FORCE

Using this option can cause unpredictable results to any users running transactions or batch jobs that the are being processed by Data Collector.
