Verifying and editing number of records

You can verify and edit the number of records in Test Case Editor, or set to skip its evaluation.

About this task

The Number of Records row displays an integer for each I/O unit. For recorded tests, the value of this integer comes from the maximum index number of records with values. For tests that do not come from recording, the default value for this is empty. You may edit the value if you need to. The cell is not editable when the file I/O unit does not contain output parameters.

Procedure

  1. In the data editor of Test Case Editor, find the Number of Records to check its value for each test.

  2. Verify whether the number is correct. Edit the number if you need to.
    A warning message might occur when the number you input is smaller than the auto-detected value when you start the Record data for test case action, or the maximum index number of records with expected parameter values.
  3. You may use the right-click menu on Number of Records and set to skip evaluation for this number for test runs.
    It is also skipped when no fields are enabled in the test. For example, you might have set to skip evaluation for all data fields, leaving no need to check.
