  • Added initial IBM Information Management System (IMS) Transaction Manager (TM) logon support. Integration Test Builder for z/OS requires the user to set a new parameter in itbz-config.yaml called imssubsystemid in order to record IMS transactions.
  • Added support for multiple programs in itbz-config.yaml below the setting called Programs.
  • Added a check to verify the installed Java is an IBM Semeru version.
  • Added support for Dynamic Distribution for the Galasa versions.
  • Added the sample configuration files while generating a Galasa project.

  • Early Development Testing for z/OS now supports COBOL programs which are entered via an ENTRY statement, with the exception of CICS programs. This enables support for common programming patterns, like ENTRY 'DLITCBL' for IMS programs.

Integration Test Builder for z/OS changes
  • Added optional support for Galasa tags in itbz-config.yaml under a setting called galasaTags. Galasa tag values are set in the generated test file based on the values in itbz-config.yaml.
  • Added optional support for local DB2 Config files in itbz-config.yaml under a setting called localDB2Config. The DB2 config file contains information about the DB2 table, columns, and cursors. This file is used to generate the DB2 assertions more accurately.
  • Added support for generated sample files when the Galasa project is created. The directory structure will be created along with a sample db2Config file (POLICY.yaml), a sample variableGalasaConfig file, and a sample itbz-config.yam file.
  • Added support for unique message IDs.
  • Additional logging on start recording operation to aid potential debugging.
  • Added support for multiple DB2 tables per transaction.
  • Added support for renaming functions, test classes, and test files. This information will be set in the variableGalasaConfig file.
  • Added support for multiple primary keys in the DB2 SQL.
On-demand Dev and Test environment for z/OS changes
  • The tooling now supports importing the following artifacts from a IBM Z Development and Test Environment v14.2.x, IBM Virtual Dev and Test for z/OS v1.4.x, or Wazi Image Builder v1.4.x tooling installation:
    1. Storage server details
    2. License servers details
    3. Users details
    4. Images - when importing images it will automatically import components and source environment definitions.
  • The IBM z/OS Extraction utilities, previously bundled with the On-demand Dev and Test environment for z/OS tooling installation, are now z/OS SMP/E installable and bundled with the Test Accelerator for Z hosts components. They will need to be installed if you are extracting your on-premise z/OS environment as a custom image for use with On-demand Dev and Test environment for z/OS.
  • Improvements for system residence volume component creation - allow creating the z/OS configuration under a specific high level qualifier (HLQ).
  • Performance improvements with secure file transfers of data sets within an image during the provisioning process.
  • An updated IBM z/OS Dev & Test Stock Image containing updates for Debug, z/OS Explorer, MQSeries and z/OS Explorer API.

Integration Test Builder for z/OS changes
  • Added a progress indicator on the VS Code status bar to indicate a recording is happening.
  • Added multiple BMS file support. Users can now define multiple files to be passed into itbz-config.yaml under a setting called localBmsMapNames. BMS files are used for test generation.
  • Fixed an issue where the GALASA_HOME environmental variable was not checked correctly.
  • Fixed command execution on Windows. Previously users had to have Windows Subsystem for Linux or Git Bash. In this version, those dependencies are not required.
  • Changed and improved extension logging. The logs print which Zowe profile is being used to and which error the extension encountered when downloading files or starting a recording.
  • Fixed an issue where the CICS screen-typed values were shifted if there was a blank value in the recording.
