LISTDATA information

When using the LISTDATA command via IDCAMS to verify the status of the subsystem or volumes (for example, CFW on or off), there are some commands that query the physical controller and others that obtain the information from memory.

The following command queries the physical controller: LISTDATA DSTATUS SUBSYSTEM

The command below gets its information from memory. Therefore, if CFW has been turned off at the device level, it may not show up in this report. The commands that do physically query the controller are: LISTDATA COUNTS DEVICE and LISTDATA STATUS
